Clara’s school picture
Just a quick post to show you Clara’s school picture up for you to see. This is her first year of school (kindergarten).
George’s 1st birthday
Happy birthday George! One marvelous year after he made his uneventful debut, George turned one yesterday. He got a cupcake and plenty of other sugar throughout the day. The day ended a bit grumpy due to funny naps and sugar, sugar, sugar. Grandma Shannon made the trip up for a visit. Here are some pictures and some videos (the last two videos aren’t that great in terms of quality, but they’re fun) of the day.
Thanks for the well wishes and phone calls.

even more cupcake/balloon action
(By the way, did you know that you can click on these photos to see them bigger? You can magnify them and even download them. You don’t just have to watch them in the slideshow here (this is a picasa feature, by the way))
George wants more (and he’s walking)
So I’ve been accumulating pictures and videos faster than I can get them up. I took a little video of George walking (while Rachel practiced a musical number with someone in the other room). And then I filmed George at a typical family dinner. Well, maybe it wasn’t all that typical since Clara said “this is the funnest night we’ve ever had”. All the kids are screaming and laughing and George is hilarious. Enjoy!
Clara plays soccer
We decided to sign Clara up for Soccer this year. It’s the first year that we’ve tried it with any of our kids. The uniforms are designed to work across many years, so it looks like she’s running around in a big bag on the field. She’s figuring out how to keep her eye on the ball, but a few times a game she still looks over at me and Rachel to make the sign “I love you”.
Here’s a little video of her first and second game. Clara made the music herself using a really cool tool called myna (that’s a link so click it). You can choose a bunch of different themes and then create music from an intro, a collection of middle loops and an end. Then you can save (mix down) to your computer. If any of you are looking for some quick and easy music for your little videos they have some really cute stuff. It’s easy to use too.
Clara Dance Recital
I promised that I would post the video of Clara’s dance recital. It took me a while to edit it, but here it is. Clara sure had fun with her friends (some are even in our ward). What you can’t see in the video is the fact that Lydia watched Clara studiously every week at dance class and knew the dances as well as Clara. She stood in the aisle and did them as she watched (and of course she went just as dressed up as Clara.
Enjoy.
